WebGalusha A. Pennypacker was the son of Joseph J. and Tamson Amelia Workizer Pennypacker. He began his military career with the 97th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry during the Civil War. He was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1891 for his actions at Fort Fisher in 1865 and appointed Brigadier-General in 1904.
